JV Lady Bucs fall at home to Bridgeport

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Lady Bucs dropped a 38-21 decision to the Bridgeport Indians at home Thursday night.

The Lady Bucs trailed by a 12-5 score after one quarter with Gracie Gerwig popping in a three-pointer and Makenzie Egress a short jumper for B-U.

The only offense for the Lady Bucs in the second quarter were two baskets from Egress and they trailed at halftime by a 17-9 score.

The Lady Bucs lost the third quarter by a 13-8 margin with Taylor Feather putting in four points Gerwig adding another trey and Kylie Hull putting in a free throw for B-U.

That left them down by a 30-17 score going into the final quarter.

Egress had the only four points for the Lady Bucs in the fourth quarter, which went to Bridgeport by an 8-4 score.

Hannah Watson led Bridgeport with 17 points.

Egress paced the B-U offense with 10 points.

The loss dropped the Lady Bucs to 0-11 on the year.

They were scheduled to play John Marshall on Saturday.

They will be back in action Tuesday at Lewis County with a 5:45 p.m. start.
