JV Lady Bucs conclude season with loss to Morgantown

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Lady Bucs dug themselves an early hole that they weren’t able to get out of in a 45-22 home loss to Morgantown Monday evening in their season finale.

The JV Lady Bucs trailed by a 20-2 margin after one quarter with just a basket by Casadie Lahman being their only offense.

They got things going in the second quarter, winning it by a 13-8 margin with Regina Petrokovich firing in a pair of three-pointers for six points, Rosie Shackleford getting five points, and Lahman two.

They still trailed at the break by a 28-15 score.

The JV Lady Bucs managed just four points in the third quarter getting outscored by a 10-4 margin with NinaMae Coberly getting a basket and Lahman and Petrokovich each putting in a free throw.

That left them down by a 38-19 score going into the final quarter.

B-U stalled out in the fourth quarter, earning just three points: a basket from Lahman and a free throw by Olivia Shipley.

Liz Alsop led Morgantown with seven points.

Petrokovich and Lahman each paced the JV Lady Bucs with seven points. B-U ended their season with a 5-11 record.
