JV Bucs lose to Parkersburg at home, 70-47

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Buccaneers simply couldn’t keep up with the Parkersburg Big Reds in a 70-47 setback Monday night.

The Bucs were down by a 15-9 score after one quarter with Landon Marple dropping in a trey and Seth Allen, Damion White and Brody McDaniels each putting in a basket for B-U.

Buckhannon-Upshur lost the second quarter by a 17-10 margin with McDaniels scoring four points and White, Kadyn Baisden and Xavier Robinette each scoring two.

That left the Bucs down by a 32-19 score at the half.

Buckhannon-Upshur was outscored by Parkersburg by a 21-15 margin in the third quarter with Robinette putting in six points on two three-pointers while White had four points, McDaniels two, and Allen, Baisden and Brody Jeran one each.

The Bucs went into the final quarter down by a 53-34 count.

B-U dropped the fourth quarter by a 17-13 score with McDaniels tallying seven points while Robinette and Colten Warner each added three.

Parkersburg’s Chandler Jackson led all scorers with 21 points while Luke Anderson had 13.

McDaniels paced B-U with 15 points while Robinette added 11.

The loss dropped the Bucs to 6-9 on the year.

They will play again on Wednesday hosting Morgantown at 5:45 p.m.
