JV Bucs implode in fourth quarter in 65-49 loss to East Fairmont

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Buccaneers let their season-finale get away from them in the fourth quarter against East Fairmont Thursday evening in a 65-49 setback.

The Bucs trailed by just one going into the fourth quarter, at 42-41, but were outscored in the final eight minutes by a 23-8 score for a 16-point loss.

The game was tied at 11-11 after one quarter with Jacob Frye putting in five points, Xavier Robinette three, Brody McDaniels two and Damion White one for the Bucs.

The Bucs dropped the second quarter by a 13-9 score with White scoring six points and McDaniels three.

That left Buckhannon-Upshur down by a 24-20 count at the break.

The Bucs erupted for 21 third-quarter points with McDaniels scoring seven, Landon Marple and White five each, Colten Warner three and Frye one.

That left B-U down by just one, at 42-41, heading into the final eight minutes of action.

In the fourth quarter, B-U managed just eight points getting six from White and two from McDaniels.

Austin Taylor led East Fairmont with 13 points.

White had a game-high 18 points for the Bucs while McDaniels added 14.

The Bucs wrapped up their season with a 6-11 record.
