Inaugural nine-month Leadership Upshur program set to launch in October

Buckhannon, W.Va. – We are pleased to announce the inaugural Leadership Upshur program beginning in October of this year. Leadership Upshur represents our community’s belief in helping mold and create future leaders in our community.

The program is designed to help individuals identify and learn leadership skills to help them in their future endeavors. Leadership Upshur doesn’t have an age or job requirement to participate. The focus is on helping any individual who wants to learn leadership skills and advance in that aspiration. To learn more or to apply for the program visit https://leadershipupshur.com

The Leadership Upshur program begins October 4, 2022 and will run for 9 months with classes being all day on the first Thursday of each month. There is also a leadership book club element that will have virtual meetings for 1 hour in between each in-person class. The class will read 5 leadership books over the course of the program (list can be found here) and will actively discuss the themes & topics presented within them.

Our in-person meetings will focus on different aspects of leadership and how those skills are utilized across different industries, businesses, and platforms to accomplish organizational goals. When the participants complete the program they can be confident in their leadership abilities and immediately begin putting them into practice in their career or in the community.

We have an amazing speaker list lined up to speak with our group and will be a highlight of the inaugural program. The class will also feature a group retreat and fun graduation (sponsored by the City of Buckhannon).

Lastly, the class will be responsible for choosing and implementing a community service project throughout the course of the program that will positively impact the Upshur County community. If you’d like to apply or if you have an employee you’d like to send please visit https://leadershipupshur.com and click Application to be considered.
