Harmon crowned 2023 Miss West Virginia USA, Campbell claims Miss West Virginia Teen USA title

BUCKHANNON — A Marshall University senior was crowned Miss West Virginia USA 2023 Sunday at the West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts.

The 2023 Miss West Virginia and Miss West Virginia Teen USA pageants took place in Buckhannon, West Virginia, for the third consecutive year, Friday, June 2, through Sunday, June 4.

The new 2023 Miss West Virginia USA Nevaeh Harmon, representing Charleston, is a fourth-year student with a double major in biochemistry and pre-med and a certified pharmacy technician. Miss West Virginia USA 2022 Krystian Leonard passed her title onto Harmon, whose interests include mentoring young women, mental health awareness and pediatric medicine.

The first runner-up title in the Miss W.Va. USA contest was claimed by Tamia Hardy, representing Berkeley County, followed by the second runner-up Emma Knapp of Star City, third runner-up Cassidy Myers representing the West Virginia Strawberry Festival and fourth runner-up, Erin Wellman, representing the West Virginia Three Rivers Festival.

Laykn Campbell, representing Parkersburg, was crowned Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2023. A freshman at WVU, Campbell studies broadcast journalism with a minor in pre-law. The 2022 Miss West Virginia Teen USA Emma Kitchen of Williamstown passed her title onto Campbell.

The first runner-up was Baylee Jarrett representing Nicholas County, and the second runner-up was Kourtney Jones representing the W.Va. Three Rivers Festival.
