Green light: Elkins Raceway opens for 2023 season

KERENS – Thunder returns to the mountains of Randolph County this Saturday as Elkins Raceway opens their gates for the 2023 season.

Budweiser Dirt Super Late Models, TKS Contracting/High Point Construction FASTRAK Crate Late Models, Holbrook on the Hill UMP Modifieds, Cordial Logistics Edge Hot Mods, Louie’s Bargain Barn Street Stocks, and Mini-Wedges will roll off trailers May 6 for the first race of the 71st Anniversary season.

Elkins Raceway attracts drivers from across West Virginia and surrounding areas to the 3/8 mile dirt track in the mountains of Randolph County for an evening of family-friendly fun.

Drivers will race every Saturday night beginning May 6 through the Season Championship on August 26. Please note the season schedule is subject to change without warning.

There are numerous, exciting events scheduled for this season in addition to weeks of regular racing. Special events include autograph nights, the Skidmore Memorial Race, Wall of Fame induction ceremony, special races, a bike race and candy rush for the children, the Stout Memorial Race and the Mid- and End-of-Season Championships.

Pit gates will open every Saturday night at 5 p.m. with $30 admission. General admission to the grandstands begin at 6 p.m. with $15 admission. Hot laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.
