BUCKHANNON — The home of Brad and Jennifer Lemons at 12 W. Lincoln Street has been selected by Fred Brooks Garden Club as the 2023 Strawberry Yard of the Month. The flag hanging on the porch belonged to Brad’s grandmother and was sold many years ago as a fundraiser for the festival.

West Virginia Wesleyan swept Frostburg State on Friday in Frostburg, with the women edging a 4-3 win and the men cruising to a 7-0 shutout in Mountain East Conference action. Key singles and doubles victories sealed both matches for the Bobcats.

Charles Allen, 93, of Buckhannon, died April 11, 2026, at Holbrook Healthcare Center following an extended illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Western Union and the railroad.
