Buckhannon officials are seeking help to keep the Stockert Youth and Community Center basketball program running in 2026 following director Debora Brockleman’s retirement. They hope to have a plan put together by October 1.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will waive day-use fees at its recreation areas nationwide on Sept. 26 for National Public Lands Day. Volunteers can join restoration projects at participating sites and may receive a fee-free coupon.

Vandalia Health will celebrate the grand opening of Mon Harrison Neighborhood Hospital in Bridgeport on September 22. The 11 a.m. ceremony will feature a ribbon cutting, refreshments and facility tours.
