Fred Brooks Garden Club raises funds for civic beautification

BUCKHANNON — On Monday, May 17, Fred Brooks Garden Club held its annual plant sale at Jawbone Park.

Libby Randall served as auctioneer, and members brought extra plants and bulbs to sell. Danny and Dianne Williams generously donated several plants to support the club’s fundraising. The auction raised over $300. These funds help Fred Brooks finance its civic beautification projects, which include planting geraniums at the Upshur County Courthouse and the Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department.

Fred Brooks will also be selling plants, including hostas and lilies, at Festival Fridays on June 4. The club will also be selling tickets for a planter raffle at the first Festival Friday.
