Fairmont State student to intern with United States Senator

Fairmont State University sophomore Ely Osborne has been chosen to be an intern for United States Senator Shelley Moore Capito.

From Wallback, W.Va., Osborne is a double major in political science and national security and intelligence. Following an internship for the Speaker of the House of Delegates during the most recent West Virginia leglislative session, he looks forward to learning even more.

“I met Senator Capito during my time in the United States Senate Youth Program and I am more than humbled for the opportunity to serve in her office,” he said. “She is a hard worker and fighter for the issues that face West Virginians! There is no one I would rather work for!”

This opportunity will allow him to gain even more insight into the political process and learn hands-on.

Osborne is in the Honors Program, a Student Government representative, a member of the College Republicans and active in Chi Alpha Campus Ministries. He is also on the Marion Country Executive Republican Committee. In his free time, he enjoys being politically active, going to church, and golfing.
