TENNERTON — Kaitlyn Luterak and William Delauder were recently named the February Teens of the Month by Elks Lodge No. 1736.
Each month, the Buckhannon Elks presents the award to a female and male senior Buckhannon-Upshur High School student, both of whom exemplify good character, kindness and a strong work ethic.
Pictured above, from left, are Elks members and retired Upshur County Schools superintendent Roy Water, Luterek, Delauder and Scott Wilson, Elks Lodge secretary.
Each month, teachers nominate students who have a strong GPA, are involved in school and extracurricular activities and possess an “all-around good character,” B-UHS librarian Angie Snyder-Westfall told My Buckhannon in January.
“Students nominated have an all-around good character and something we would like to see others strive to be,” Snyder-Westfall said.
Each winning teen receives a gift certificate, a $25 cash prize and a chance to be tapped as the 2019 Elks Teen of the Year.
Congratulations to Kaitlyn and William from the staff of My Buckhannon!
