KERENS – A large crowd of racing fans blanketed the front stretch of the track Saturday night during this season’s second Autograph and Picture Night at Elkins Raceway.

After several weeks of rain cancellations, fans finally had the opportunity to meet and greet their favorite drivers under clear skies Saturday night. This unique experience encouraged fans to collect driver autograph cards and snap a few pictures. Several drivers from various racing classes offered additional goodies for fans to take home as a keepsake such as candy, a checkered flag and glowsticks.

The July 8 feature race winners are as follows:

  • Budweiser Dirt Super Late Models – Shane Hitt
  • TKS Contracting/High Point Construction FASTRAK Crate Late Models – Brent Trimble
  • Holbrook on the Hill UMP Modifieds – Mitch Thomas
  • Louie’s Bargain Warehouse Street Stocks – Bryan Mitchell
  • Cordial Logistics Edge Hot Mods – Josh Mullenax

Join Elkins Raceway this Saturday, July 15 for a jam-packed night of exciting events:

Elkins Raceway is set to induct ten individuals into the Wall of Legends during a ceremony on July 15. A meet and greet session will begin at 3 p.m. The official ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. Ten former drivers, car owners, track promoters, sponsors, contributors and pit crew members were inducted in 2022. There is no additional fee for racing fans to witness this year’s momentous ceremony of reminiscing, respect and passion for all things dirt track racing.

Following the ceremony, the Richard Skidmore Memorial races will offer increased pay for all classes with an enormous $3,000 payout for the Budweiser Dirt Super Late Model feature race. Last year’s Budweiser Dirt Super Late Model feature race winner was Cody Rogers, of Spelter, West Virginia.

This weekend, not only the thundering engines can be heard in the hills of Kerens. A massive fireworks display will fill the air above the track during intermission!

Weather permitting, pit gates will open Saturday night at 4 p.m. with $35 admission. General admission to the grandstands begins at 5 p.m. with $15 admission. Children aged 11 and under are free in general admission. Hot laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.
