Dr. Sami Aljohani to join Mon Health Heart and Vascular Center

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Mon Health Heart and Vascular Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Sami Aljohani to its staff. Dr. Aljohani will soon be practicing at the Mon Health Heart and Vascular locations in Elkins and Weston.

Dr. Aljohani is a graduate of Taibah University, College of Medicine in Saudi Arabia. He moved to the United States in 2012 where he performed his internship, residency, and fellowship at West Virginia University and knows the importance of cardiac care because of the state’s sobering statistics. Dr. Aljohani is married and spends his downtime traveling, reading, and watching movies.

“I was drawn to medicine after seeing the effects of limited healthcare access on my family members, Dr. Aljohani said. “Being able to work and live in an area where I can be of greatest help is my goal and calling West Virginia my home is an honor.”

West Virginia ranks first highest in the nation in the prevalence of heart attack (7.5%) and coronary heart disease (8.0%). The state ranks seventh highest in the nation in the prevalence of stroke (4.4%) and the overall cardiovascular disease prevalence is highest in the nation according to the WV Department of Health and Human Resources.

This makes it that more important to bring the award-winning Mon Health Heart and Vascular Center close to patients in North Central WV. The Center brings the latest advancements in cardiac care to the community hospital setting, offering patients the expertise and comfort they deserve. From diagnostics to surgery, the Mon Health physicians use a comprehensive approach focused on individualized care and exceptional outcomes.

With a highly-skilled clinical team, patients receive the care and attention they need to get back to an active, rewarding life.

Mon Health Medical Center is the first and only hospital in West Virginia to earn an Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Accreditation and Mon Health Medical Center is the only regional hospital and 24th in the country to receive HeartCARE Center Designation. From diagnostics to surgery, the Mon Health physicians use a comprehensive approach focused on individualized care and exceptional outcomes.

Dr. Aljohani will be seeing patients at the Mon Health Heart and Vascular Center in Elkins at 501 Railroad Ave, (304) 636-5006 and at the Weston office located at 66 Hospital Plaza in Weston, (304) 269-6004.
