BUCKHANNON – The holiday season is officially upon us, and the Upshur County Visitors Center is excited to host another year of the Christmas scavenger hunt for Upshur County students.

Elementary-age students are asked to visit at least five of the following scavenger hunt stops to receive a Christmas stamp:

  • Sam’s Pizza – 9 Southfork Plaza Drive
  • Wendling’s Market – 101 Wendling Plaza Drive
  • The Daily Grind – 20 Raella Lane
  • Argo Books – 7 East Main Street
  • Fox’s Pizza Den – 31 Joni Kay Boulevard
  • The Rink – 23 East Main Street
  • Upshur County Public Library – 1150 Route 20 South Road
  • Sweet A Licious – 21 Madison Street
  • French Creek Christmas Farm – 943 Hoover Town in French Creek
  • Christmas at Fairyland – The Baxa Inn – 21 North Kanawha St

Students who receive at least five stamps and drop their card off at any stop location will be entered into a giveaway. Four lucky winners will take home a $25 gift card! Cards must be submitted to one of the stamp locations before end of day on Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Cards were delivered to all elementary schools across the county earlier this month. Didn’t receive a card? Extra cards are available at the Chamber & Visitors Center found at 14 E. Main Street in Buckhannon. Cards can also be found at the Upshur County Public Library, located at 1150 Route 20 South Road in Buckhannon, for our homeschooled friends and littles who aren’t in school yet.

“We hope you will enjoy visiting all of the wonderful places on our card,” said Upshur CVB via Facebook. “Be sure to decorate the fronts before you drop them off! We can’t wait to see all the beautifully colored cards at the end of the month. Good luck and, more importantly, have fun!”

Follow Upshur County Visitors Center on Facebook to see the winners revealed on Thursday, Dec. 21.
