BUCKHANNON – Ready for a new you? Blades & Fades offers Buckhannon an exclusive space to get a fresh haircut, tattoo — or both — at one location.

Blades & Fades is a female-owned business with barber Abby Harman working alongside Kloe Tankersley of Kloe Cirsie Tattoos. Harman provides clients with a fresh barber experience while Tankersley offers a variety of tattoo styles; however, she specializes in fine line and traditional tattoos.

Both Harman and Tankersley’s passions for their art were noticeable at an early age.

“Barbering and the straight razor really interested me, I always thought it was really cool,” Harman said.

Tankersley got her first tattoo at the age of seventeen. She then fell in love with the art and how it made her feel.

“I always feel more comfortable in my own skin every time I get a tattoo,” Tankersley said.

Her advice for a first-time tattoo client? “Get what you want. Do it for you, not anyone else.”

This partnership of services has always been a dream of Harman’s.

“Since I got out of barber school, I always wanted a shop with a tattoo parlor in it as well,” Harman said. “I met Kloe, and we tossed around the idea. We’d talk about it, but it was always, ‘When we find a place, it’ll happen when it’s supposed to.’ When we found this location, it was perfect!”

The move to Main Street Buckhannon allows Tankersley to provide tattoo services to Blades & Fades barber clientele and others.

“This shop brings something new to Buckhannon and opens up more clientele, diversity and female-owned businesses,” Tankersley said.

Harman hopes that the Buckhannon community recognizes the exclusivity of a business like this.

“I hope that our clients know that we are different than any other business in Buckhannon,” she said. “All walks of life are welcome here.”
