Davis Medical Center “No Cost Clinic” is perfect for underinsured adults

ELKINS, W.Va. – Patients who are uninsured or underinsured (high deductible) are encouraged to find out more about the No Cost Clinic offered at Davis Medical Center on Tuesday, Feb. 26 beginning at 1 p.m.

The clinic is held in the outpatient family practice center. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 304.637.3894.

“No one should have to delay or avoid seeing a provider because of the cost,” said DMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Catherine “Mindy” Chua. “This is an opportunity to have a complete physical including time to talk with a physician about health concerns, and personal health goals.”

The visit includes a comprehensive adult physical including primary care, health education and counseling, and is free and confidential. It is designed to meet the needs of those who have not seen a physician in more than one year, who do not have a primary care physician, who are uninsured or underinsured, who have avoided care because of the perceived cost and who suffer from one or more chronic diseases.

According to Dr. Chua the No Cost Clinics were instituted by DMC in 2018. “During that first year, we were able to help several individuals improve their health dramatically. We detected complications, which without medical intervention, could have had serious outcomes for the patient.”

The no-cost clinic is part of Davis Medical Center’s PACE program aimed to help consumers’ access low-cost care, get quotes for services, understand payment options, save money and find assistance programs available for varied needs.

To schedule an appointment on February 26 call 304.637.3894, or to learn more about the DMC PACE program, call 304-637-3125.
