Davis Health System rebrands as Vandalia Health

Area health network rebrands from Davis Health System to Vandalia Health, unifying facilities under a cohesive identity that enhances patient access, quality care, and advanced medical services across West Virginia.
New signage is on display at Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center as part of Davis Health System’s transition to the Vandalia Health brand.

Beginning this month, area residents will notice an exciting new look on display as Davis Health System facilities unveil new signage and branding, officially transitioning to Vandalia Health.

The rebranding marks a significant step in integrating Davis Medical Center in Elkins, Broaddus Hospital in Philippi, and Webster Memorial Hospital in Webster Springs, under the Vandalia Health name—reinforcing a shared commitment to exceptional, patient-centered care across West Virginia. From updated facility signs and logos to refreshed patient materials and marketing, the transformation reflects a unified health system dedicated to enhancing access and quality care.

The rebranding officially changes the following facility names to align with Vandalia Health’s statewide identity:

  • Davis Medical Center is now Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center.
  • Broaddus Hospital is now Vandalia Health Broaddus Hospital.
  • Webster Memorial Hospital is now Vandalia Health Webster Memorial Hospital.

“Our new signage is an exciting visual representation of the enhancements to patient care that our health care experts and staff have been implementing since our integration with Vandalia Health in 2023,” said Ron Andro, Senior Vice President of Davis Health System and Chief Administrative Officer of Davis Medical Center. “The rebranding of Davis Health System to Vandalia Health is more than just a name change—it is a strategic transformation that unifies our organization under a cohesive identity. The rebranding of Davis facilities represents a commitment to streamlined services, enhanced patient experiences and a strong, recognizable presence across the state. Through careful planning, our rebranding effort ensures that our patients, staff and community can enjoy a seamless transition to our new identity while maintaining trust in the care they receive.”

Vandalia Health was formed in 2022, bringing together West Virginia’s CAMC and Mon Health systems. Since then, Vandalia Health has continued to grow, adding several hospitals and Davis Health System. The Vandalia name draws on the region’s history. In the 1700s, the British gave the name “Vandalia” to parts of Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Vandalia Health now operates hospitals, outpatient offices and telemedicine centers across West Virginia as well as parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Ohio.

“The rebranding of Davis Health facilities reflects our shared mission of providing quality care across the state,” said David Ramsey, President & CEO of Vandalia Health. “While the names are changing, our commitment to the communities we serve throughout the state and region remains steadfast. Patients will continue to receive the same compassionate, quality care from the providers they know and trust, while also enjoying enhanced connectivity and access to specialized care within our larger, integrated health system.”

As West Virginia’s second-largest not-for-profit health network, Vandalia Health operates over 190 outpatient locations across 70 specialties, with 13,000 employees and more than 2,000 physicians and advanced practice providers. More than 2 million patients were treated across the Vandalia Health Network in 2024.

Since joining Vandalia Health, Davis Health System has expanded stroke care, improved emergency department operations, and introduced cardiology and specialty telemedicine programs to provide rural patients with expert care close to home. Davis Medical Center now offers advanced Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) imaging for early heart disease detection, while Vandalia Health’s Mobile Medical Units bring essential services to underserved communities. Additionally, Vandalia Health’s Institute for Academic Medicine and CAMC Center for Learning & Research provide a strong foundation for medical education and innovation, further strengthening West Virginia’s position in the health care landscape.

“By fully embracing the Vandalia Health identity, we strengthen our ability to provide advanced, patient-centered care,” said Bill Dempsey, Chief Administrative Officer, Webster Memorial Hospital. “Joining Vandalia Health has allowed us to expand our services and bring quality, specialized care closer to home for our community. Through initiatives like telecardiology and enhanced system-wide collaboration, patients now have greater access to expert care without the burden of extensive travel. These advancements ensure that residents of Webster County receive timely, life-saving treatments right here at home. We look forward to expanding on these efforts in the future as part of Vandalia Health.”

“We are incredibly excited about this transition,” said Dana Gould, Chief Administrative Officer, Broaddus Hospital. “Since our integration with Vandalia Health, we’ve been able to introduce critical services to better serve our community, including a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program and advanced teleneurology for stroke care. These initiatives ensure that patients recovering from heart conditions receive the support they need close to home, while those experiencing neurological emergencies have rapid access to specialized care from leading experts. Our hospital’s rebranding is not just a new name—it’s our promise to deliver the highest level of care while remaining grounded in our values that have always defined us.”
