Corley graduates from Hospital Leadership Academy

Philippi, W.Va. — Broaddus Hospital Director of Nursing, Lesa Corley, BSN, RN recently graduated from the nine-month West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA) Leadership Academy.

The Academy offers participants the opportunity to gain the experiences, insights, networking competencies, and skill enhancements necessary to effectively lead teams in the workplace and in the community.

Corley believes the skills she learned will help her in her day-to-day activities as the Director of Nursing and open up networking opportunities.

The WVHA Leadership Academy has provided me with training in executive leadership development, and the opportunity to learn from a wide range of experts.” Corley said. “Insight that I have gained includes executive leadership responsibilities in the ever changing accelerated hospital environment, and the true importance of networking and establishing good relationships with peers from across the state.”

Corley, has worked with DHS since 1990, and is the 1st employee to complete the Leadership Academy from Broaddus Hospital.

According to the WVHA website, completion of the Academy provides hospital professionals insight on the healthcare environment and business leadership strategies. Additionally, they exchange ideas and network with their colleagues from across the state.
