Christmas food baskets available at Upshur Parish House

BUCKHANNON — Christmas food baskets are available to low-income Upshur County families again this year, courtesy of the Upshur Parish House.

Distribution of baskets begins on Saturday, December 17, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Other days include weekdays, December 19 to 21, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Those picking up a basket on Saturday, December 17, are asked to drive down College Avenue and then behind the Parish House for curbside pickup. To receive a basket Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, December 19, 20 or 21, please come to the front door of the Parish House upon arrival.

Baskets include all items needed to prepare a traditional holiday meal.  

The Upshur Parish House serves Upshur County residents only.  Regular eligibility guidelines apply for Christmas food baskets. Any household in need of food items in order to have a Christmas meal is welcome to receive a basket.

Please note that the Upshur Parish House will be closed in observance of Christmas and New Year beginning Friday, December 23 through January 2, 2023. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.  We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year 2023!
