BUCKHANNON – The specialty clothing boutique, Caroline’s Closet, recently launched a locally made West Virginia-themed clothing line known as the Just South Lilly Inspired Collection. What’s more, the line was designed, produced and is now being sold right here in Buckhannon.

The Just South Lilly Inspired Collection currently features both clothing and stickers/car decals. Director of E-Commerce and Marketing for Caroline’s Closet Lisa Karickhoff said she and Caroline’s Closet owner, Jennifer Fluke, co-designed the collection.

“It was a co-effort between the two of us,” Karickhoff said. “We had carried popular West Virginia items from various vendors but wanted to introduce something that could not be found anywhere else in our state.”

Karickhoff said she and Fluke wanted to carry a West Virginia-themed line that was unique to their store.

“We asked ourselves, ‘what can we do to still keep our West Virginia Collection, but turn it into something that no one else has?”’ Karickhoff said.

Fluke said the new Caroline’s Closet Just South Lilly Inspired Collection could have only been inspired by the one and only designer, Lilly Pulitzer; however, no one could ever replace her original collection. Her colorful and whimsical designs inspired us to create our designs for our very own West Virginia Collection.

The line is made locally at Sunset Graphics in Buckhannon, owned by Eric Fluke, Jennifer’s husband.

“Following the Just South Collection Launch, we quickly created the tag line: ‘Locally Made. Lilly Inspired,’” Fluke explained. “Supporting small businesses is something we hold close to our heart, so being able to produce the collection locally was major for us,” Fluke added.

The items in the line feature relaxed fit V-neck T-shirts, flowy tank tops, cropped T-shirts, long-sleeved, oversized Jerseys, and stickers/car decals available in three prints.

“Everyone’s favorite has been the Just South of Lilly Paradise V-Neck Tee, and we just got it restocked in two new prints,” Karickhoff said. “The Lilly State of Mind Cropped Tees have been a customer favorite, and our
‘Almost Heaven in Lilly Jerseys’ are a personal favorite. We foresee these being a must-have item come late-summer and into fall.”

It has always been Caroline’s Closet’s goal to provide fabulous fashion for all age groups.

“It was my hope that if a mother or grandmother were to come in looking for an item for their daughter or granddaughter that they would also find something for themselves,” Fluke said.

Caroline’s Closet is located at 4 Northridge Drive, Suite 102, Buckhannon, WV 26201, next to Buffalo Wild Wings. Their hours have been changed to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Caroline’s Closet also has a website, https://carolinescloset.net, where customers can make purchases online. The boutique also regularly posts on their Facebook and Instagram accounts where they show what they have available.
