Davis, W.Va. – Highlighting the unique flora and fauna of the highest mountain valley in the eastern United States and providing an opportunity for both individuals and families to learn about and explore all the area has to offer, Canaan Valley Resort will host multiple expert-led hikes and educational forums throughout July.

“We’ve seen great interest from guests in not only exploring Canaan Valley and the surrounding area but also learning about it as well,” said Sam England, Canaan Valley Resort General Manager. “Our July event series focuses on providing guests a more holistic experience; arming them with information so they can better understand, and more fully enjoy, the natural wonders of our region.”

The July event series includes the following:

Mid-Summer Walk Between the Parks, July 10 – The Walk Between the Parks hike is an eight-mile, moderately strenuous hike between Canaan Valley Resort and Blackwater Falls State Parks featuring amazing views of the valley. Pre-registration recommended.

Yoga Infused Nature Walk, July 31 – Join Master Naturalist Cathy Eiden and “Beach to Peak” Yoga Instructor Sheri Kosh for a relaxing and stimulating excursion on July 31 (9am) combining yoga and a nature walk on the beautiful Blackwater Trail. Guests will learn how to incorporate yoga into their walk without the need for a mat or props while also identifying wildflowers, flora, and fauna. The event is free and open to the public.
