BUCKHANNON – Are you looking for a career in aiding the older adults of our community? The Upshur County Senior Citizen’s Center serves the Buckhannon community through a variety of services to strengthen the independence and confidence of older adults.

This 501c3 organization is hiring multiple, full-time positions: cook, office administrator, receptionist and resident nurse.

Cook

The cook will prepare delicious meals according to the menu. This is a full-time position with a sign-on bonus of $1,000. Hourly pay is $11.00 with benefits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping, peeling, cutting, etc.)
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Monitor stock and place order where there are shortages

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Proven experience as a cook and knowledge of various cooking procedures

Office Administrator

The Office Administrator will undertake administrative tasks, ensuring the rest of the staff has adequate support to work efficiently. This is a full-time position with a sign-on bonus of $1,000. Hourly pay is $14.00 with benefits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
  • Manage agendas/travel arrangements/appointments, etc. for the upper management
  • Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages, etc.)

Job Requirement:

  • Proven experience as an office administrator, knowledge of Microsoft Office and office management software

Receptionist

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for the Upshur County Senior Citizen’s Center. This is a full-time position with a sign-on bonus of $1,000. Hourly pay is $11.00 with benefits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive
  • Direct visitors to appropriate person or office
  • Manage the front desk on a daily basis and to perform variety of clerical tasks

Resident Nurse

This is a full-time position with a sign-on bonus of $1,000. This position has an annual salary of $47,000/year.

Job Requirements:

  • Current RN license of State of West Virginia
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal mandates for Medicaid Waiver, Personal Care, Veterans’ Affairs, Lighthouse, FAIR, Homemaker and Respite Programs
  • Strong communication and conflict management skills
  • Must clear West Virginia Department of Human Services background check.
