CHARLESTON, WV – West Virginia Governor Jim Justice on Wednesday announced the winners of 48 prizes in the ‘Do it for BabyDog” vaccination sweepstakes, and residents in Upshur and nearby Webster counties cashed in this time.
Keelin Howes of Buckhannon won a four-year college scholarship; Michael Quinn of the Hacker Valley community in Webster county won a brand new truck; and Joseph Wolfe of Buckhannon won a lifetime fishing license, according to a press release from the governor’s office.
The nearly 50 winners were announced as part of the sixth prize giveaway of the “Do it for Babydog: Save a life, Change your life” Vaccination Sweepstakes.
Howes and John Fox of Martinsburg were named as the winners of two full four-year scholarships to any public institution in the state. Michael Quinn from the community of Hacker Valley in Webster County was announced as one of this week’s winners of a brand-new, custom-outfitted truck. The second truck winner will be announced later in the day.
Additional prizes announced include five lifetime hunting licenses, five lifetime fishing licenses, five custom hunting rifles, five custom hunting shotguns, and 25 weekend getaways to West Virginia State Parks.
“Do It For Babydog: Save a life, Change your life” is Gov. Jim Justice’s vaccination sweepstakes consisting of a series of statewide prize drawings to increase awareness of the availability and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines and provide incentives to West Virginians to get their COVID-19 vaccination.
The giveaway includes a $1.588 million grand prize, a $588,000 second prize, weekly drawings for $1 million, full scholarships to any West Virginia state college or university, custom-outfitted trucks, weekend vacations at state parks, lifetime hunting and fishing licenses, custom hunting rifles and custom hunting shotguns.

According to a the governor’s office, vaccinated West Virginians only have one more chance to win in the “Do it for Babydog: Save a life, Change your life” Vaccination Sweepstakes. All West Virginians who have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can register at DoitforBabydog.wv.gov for an opportunity to join the list of winners.
Online registration to be eligible to win in the final prize drawing will remain open until Sunday, August 1, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
The final prize drawing of the “Do it for Babydog” Vaccination Sweepstakes will be held next Wednesday, August 4, and will include two cash prizes – a grand prize of $1.588 million and a second prize of $588,000 – in addition to all of the standard non-cash prizes given away weekly.
