Buckhannon: Then & Now – Game Farm

Buckhannon: Then and Now. Join us in showcasing Upshur County throughout history and today.

Check out this 1930s photo of Ralph “Bonnie” Young in the early days of the State Game Farm that we all know and love today as the West Virginia Wildlife Center. Here, Ralph holds trapped red foxes over his shoulder. His role at the State Game Farm was to “cultivate native animal species that would then be released into the wild,” according to the Upshur County Historical Society.
