BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — West Virginia Wesleyan’s Matthew Bentley is the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Charleston’s Ewen Le Gallo is the league’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Bentley, a junior from London, England, helped lead the West Virginia Wesleyan attack in a pair of wins last week. After firing six shots in a win over Concord, Bentley found the back of the net four times in a win over Urbana. He is just the fourth player in league history to score four goals in a game.

Le Gallo, a sophomore from Nantes, France, helped the Golden Eagles secure a fifth-straight MEC regular season championship with his efforts on Sunday against nationally ranked Notre Dame. Le Gallo was called on to make just one save in the overtime match, but led a defensive unit that allowed just three shots in the match as the Golden Eagles remained unbeaten on the year improving to 13-0-2.
