BCT announces auditions for heartwarming holiday production of ‘A Christmas Story’

BUCKHANNON – Buckhannon Community Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for its upcoming holiday production of “A Christmas Story,” adapted by Philip Grecian and directed by Dannie Stiles. This iconic and heartwarming tale is a holiday classic that captures the spirit of the season, and children ages 6-13 and Adults 16 and older are invited to audition for this enchanting theatrical experience.

Based on the beloved movie, “A Christmas Story” brings to life the endearing and humorous story of young Ralphie Parker as he embarks on a quest to secure his dream Christmas gift – a Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time. Filled with nostalgic charm and relatable family moments, this production promises to warm the hearts of audiences of all ages.

The show will be a special two-weekend engagement playing December 2-3, and the following weekend December 8-10.

Audition Details:
Date: August 24 and 25
Time: 6pm-8pm
Location:Chapel Hill United Methodist Church
Age Range:** Children ages 6-13 Adults 17 and Up

Audition Requirements: Participants are encouraged to prepare a short monologue or excerpt from a favorite holiday story.

No prior acting experience is required, and all enthusiastic young talents are welcome to audition. Those who wish to audition should also bring a schedule of conflicts to list on their audition applications. Please be familiar with the sides listed here.

Rehearsals schedule will start slowly with three days a week starting in September moving to more rehearsals as the show dates near.

Director Dannie Stiles, known for his passion for encouraging young actors, is excited to bring the magic of “A Christmas Story” to the Buckhannon community. “This is an incredible opportunity for children to showcase their talents and be part of a heartwarming holiday production that will create lasting memories for both the cast and our audience,” Stiles commented.
