Basketball ‘Cats unveil 2020-21 schedule

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s basketball team and head coach Derek Sloan announced its 2021-22 schedule on Tuesday.

The Bobcats are scheduled to play 13 home games inside the Rockefeller Center.
 
Wesleyan will open its season in Indiana, Pa., at the IRMC/Hilton Garden Inn Classic hosted by Indiana (Pa.) Nov. 12-13 with games against the host Crimson Hawks and Pitt-Johnstown. The Bobcats will play a pair of games at home during the month of November, including a clash with Seton Hill on Nov. 15 and the Mountain East Conference opener versus Frostburg State on Nov. 20. WVWC will play its first road game of the season at Fairmont State on Nov. 23 before finishing the month at Shepherd in another non-conference test on Nov. 28.
 
The Bobcats have five games scheduled in the month of December. Wesleyan will host West Liberty on Dec. 1 and Notre Dame (Ohio) on Dec. 11 before hitting the road for matchups versus Wheeling on Dec. 4, Alderson Broaddus on Dec. 8 and Salem on Dec. 13.
 
Wesleyan will return from winter break on New Year’s Day for a return home game against Salem before hosting Charleston on Jan. 5. On Jan. 8, the Bobcats will travel to Walker Convocation Center to play the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State. Wesleyan is scheduled to play back-to-back road games in January versus Frostburg State (Jan. 19) and Davis & Elkins (Jan. 22) before returning to Buckhannon on Jan. 26 to play host to Wheeling. The Orange & Black end the month on Jan. 29 at West Liberty. 
 
The Bobcats will start the month of February with a matchup versus Notre Dame (Ohio) in South Euclid, Ohio, on Feb. 2. Wesleyan is scheduled to play six home games in the month of February. The final two games of the regular season slate are all scheduled to be at home: Fairmont State (Feb. 23) and Davis & Elkins (Feb. 26).

The MEC Tournament will begin on March 2 and conclude on March 6.
