Band of Brothers plan second printing of 2024 W.Va. Scenic Calendars, so submit your orders by Dec. 8

BUCKHANNON – If you thought you missed your chance to purchase a 2024 West Virginia Scenic Calendar, we’ve got some good news!

The Band of Brothers, a local Christian men’s group, has announced they will print a second round of calendars for their annual fundraiser. This year, proceeds will benefit people with disabilities in critical need of accessibility amenities as well as local youth.

The calendars are $15 and feature picturesque landscapes from across the State of West Virginia, photographed by Band of Brothers member and photographer Al Tucker. Anyone who would like to purchase additional calendars should submit their orders by noon on Friday, Dec. 8.

Contact Tucker with your orders by texting him at 304-704-4292 or emailing him at alanandliva@aol.com.

For more details about the fundraiser’s progress or other ways to buy calendars, please see the below letter from Tucker.

“Every year, the generosity of our community never fails to amaze us (the Band of Brothers), and this year is no exception. Here we are a few days after Thanksgiving, and even though we started later than normal, all 1,000 calendars are either sold or committed to people.

How does that happen? We’ve been told that people trust us to use their money wisely. They like that we help people in need and especially disadvantaged children who are local and in West Virginia. We have many repeat buyers who not only love the cause but they also like purchasing something that makes a nice Christmas gift.

One lady who lives out on the Evergreen Road in Southern Upshur County usually buys 15 calendars. She remarked that she’s always relieved to get them as her relatives who live out of state look forward to them each Christmas.

We are also fortunate to have several friends, including My Buckhannon, who sell them for us and a few companies that buy several for their employees. If you add to that all the people who have found out about us across the state, the country and/or in other countries, that is what has allowed us to build up a large base of friends who love the calendars for one reason or another. This year, our calendars have gone as far away as Brisbane, Australia. To all of them, we are extremely grateful for helping us brighten Christmas for the less fortunate.

When we announced that we had sold out, we were approached by a few people who were disappointed they couldn’t get them anymore. To accommodate folks like that, we plan to do one more special printing on Monday, Dec. 11.

People wanting them should contact Al Tucker by text at 304-704-4292 or email him at alanandliva@aol.com. If you know Buck Edwards, Kevin Hawkins, Bill Nicholson, Tim Rock, Andy Shay, John Simons or Larry Williams, you can contact them, and they will pass orders along to Al. Please get your order in by noon on Friday, December 8. Once they are printed, we will get them to you as soon as possible. Thank you!”
