B-UMS soccer teams take two from Elkins

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Buc and Little Lady Buc soccer teams earned a pair of shutout wins against Elkins Wednesday night.

The Little Lady Bucs earned a 2-0 shutout while the Little Bucs blanked Elkins by a 3-0 score.

For the Little Lady Bucs, they took a 1-0 lead at the break behind a goal from Lily Rice.

Miley Tallman put the game away for B-UMS with a second-half goal.

Hannah Kelley made one save in net for the Little Lady Bucs in the first half while Isabella Nottingham made four saves in the second half.

The win improved the team to 5-4-2 on the year.

For the Little Bucs, they owned a 1-0 lead at the intermission and scored two more times in the second half for their 3-0 win.

Brody Wright had two goals while Ayden Travise had the other.

Landon Wright made four saves in net.

The boys improved to 6-3-1 on the year.

Both teams will be back in action Friday hosting Barbour County with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 a.m.
