ART26201 to present B-U Camera Club exhibit, ‘Our Heritage,’ set to open May 5

BUCKHANNON — ART26201 will present Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club’s “OUR HERITAGE” exhibition starting Friday, May 5, 2023, at the M.I.B. GALLERY in the Colonial Arts Center, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club photographers featured in the exhibition will be Carol Baxa Meese, Karl Boone, Sharon Boone, Kilsong Cox, Kathy Gregg, Gary McCoy, Reta McCoy, Sandra Miller, Steven Minardi, Dawn Morrow, Wendy Parks, Alan Tucker, and Janna Vaught.

“Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club’s photographers are pleased to participate in this spring exhibit that focuses on our local, state, and national heritage,” Navy Vietnam veteran and hobby photographer Steve Minardi stated. “It’s exciting to be showcasing our work during the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, where many visitors will be able to see and enjoy these heritage snippets.”

“We’re pleased to host Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club’s exhibition for the third year concurrently with Strawberry Festival,” said ART26201’s Treasurer Allison Corbin. “This year’s show features the talents of 13 photographers, and we hope you’ll come out to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award!”

In addition to the opening event on May 5, the M.I.B. GALLERY will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through May 27. The gallery will also be open for special extended hours during Strawberry Festival May 18 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), May 19 (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and May 20 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

All events at the M.I.B. GALLERY are free and open to the public. This exhibition is a collaboration of Buckhannon Upshur Camera Club, ART26201, and the City of Buckhannon.
