Halloween, Husky Style

The Hodgesville Husky students and staff enjoyed a variety of celebrations for Halloween.   Students in second grade studied United States Presidents and then created pumpkin look-a-likes. Kindergarten students also decorated pumpkins with a variety of themes including Micky Mouse and a fish.

Prior to October 31, students and families gathered on the playground for the Annual Tub or Treat – a modified version of Trunk or Treat. Students participated in a costume contest with winners in categories for Most Halloween-y, Best Girl, Best Boy, Best of Show, Most Unusual, and Silliest. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful evening while trick or treating on the track.

The next activity was a school wide trip to the W.Va. Wildlife Center. Students dressed with silly hair, face makeup, crazy socks, and Halloween colors for the trek to French Creek. Upon arrival at the Wildlife Center, students were given a decorated cookie and fruit to enjoy on their walk through the haunted trail.

Students came out of the trail with lots of smiles and stories of the coyotes, wolves, and bears being spooky!
