Buckhannon-Upshur athletes Avery Hamer and Dawson Tenney were named this week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars after Hamer helped the volleyball team sweep Elkins and Tenney passed for 347 yards and three TDs while rushing for 54 yards.

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another fall season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, cross country course, volleyball court or golf course.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Sept. 15 – Sept. 21 are Avery Hamer and Dawson Tenney.

Hamer is a junior on the volleyball team. She was a key player in the Lady Bucs sweeping Elkins (full statistics were not available).

Tenney is a senior on the Buccaneer football team. Against Elkins last Friday night, Tenney led the offense with a huge night throwing the ball, completing 18 of his 32 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the B-U ground game with 54 yards on 15 carries.

Congratulations Hamer and Tenney as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
