Buckhannon Community Theatre to present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” starting Dec. 6

Buckhannon Community Theatre is thrilled to present its holiday production, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, directed by the talented Dannie Stiles. This heartwarming and hilarious play will run from December 6-15, 2024, at the Colonial Arts Center in downtown Buckhannon. Tickets are available now at BCT’s online ticketing site and in person at Salon 88 and the Buckhannon Upshur CVB office on Main Street.

Based on the beloved book by Barbara Robinson, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever tells the story of the Herdmans, a family of six rowdy siblings who unexpectedly take over the church’s Christmas pageant. What begins as a chaotic disaster transforms into a heartfelt celebration of the true meaning of the season, reminding audiences of the joy of community, redemption and unexpected kindness. After the show, patrons are invited to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus for some extra holiday cheer in the upstairs auditorium of the theater.

Under the direction of Dannie Stiles, this production promises a delightful experience for audiences of all ages. “This story captures the spirit of the holidays in a way that’s both touching and incredibly funny,” said Stiles. “We are excited to bring this timeless classic to life and share it with our community again which BCT has produced prior in the early 1990’s.”

The Buckhannon Community Theatre is also proud to recognize WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital as a Director’s Circle Sponsor for this production. Their generous support ensures that BCT can continue to create meaningful and high-quality theatrical experiences for the Buckhannon community and beyond.
