Country Blooms opens second location in Buckhannon

BUCKHANNON — Country Blooms, a beloved Philippi flower shop, has expanded its reach by opening a second location in downtown Buckhannon. Owner Casey Foster, who also operates the original store, shared her excitement about bringing the business to her hometown after years of delivering flowers to the area.

“We’re from Buckhannon, but when we started, it was easier to open a store in Philippi because we had family there and could find a location more easily,” Foster said. “We’ve always wanted to open in Buckhannon but couldn’t find the right space until now.”

The new store, located at 9 Madison Street, offers more than just flowers.

“Most of what you see here is made in-house or by people who work here,” Foster explained. “We’re also adding gift lines like Simply Southern and Natural Life, and outdoor decor such as garden flags, wind spinners and statues.”

Foster’s journey into floral design began in high school through involvement in FFA and 4-H. Initially planning to open greenhouses, a bad growing season changed her path.

“I met the owner of a flower shop, and he suggested I open one. It seemed easier than growing plants, so I went to flower school instead of traditional college. Our family is artistic, so it was a natural fit,” she said.

The Buckhannon location, open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., offers fresh, dried and preserved flowers, with plans to expand services in 2025 to include resin keepsakes for preserving wedding bouquets.

“We deliver to all of Upshur and Barbour counties, and even into Weston, Elkins and beyond,” Foster said.

The Buckhannon shop also houses Timeless Events, a rental business owned by Foster and her husband, Tyke Foster.

“We rent everything from tables and chairs to linens, flower walls and wedding décor,” she said. “If it’s event-related, we likely have it.”

With a commitment to artistry and local charm, Country Blooms aims to brighten lives through flowers and gifts.

“We’re thrilled to be in Buckhannon and look forward to serving the community,” Foster said.
