Pre-access Service Center now available at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital

WESTON, W.Va. – Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital has announced that a Pre-Access (Service) Center (PASC) will be opening in August. This special customer service center standardizes how a patient is admitted for outpatient scheduled services at the hospital.

Rich Scherich, Vice President of Finance, is pleased with the addition and said, “We are excited to implement the PASC and improve the patient experience at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital.  Patients will have less waiting time for scheduled services, and they will have access to resources that will remove the anxiety around any financial concerns related to those services.”

The PASC offers scheduling of outpatient appointments, pre-registration of pending appointments, identification of out-of-pocket costs to patients, and discusses and helps select a financial option prior to the service date. During a standard PASC interaction, an agent will call the patient to prepare for the visit between three to five business days prior to the scheduled service.

This special team financially clears patients prior to their arrival for services, providing a seamless “no stop” process for scheduled visits. The PASC not only simplifies the scheduling and registration processes, but also reduces the amount of time spent in Registration areas upon arrival on the day of service.

The goal is to provide excellent customer service to all customers and to reduce waste in Hospital processes while delivering these services. Patient and provider satisfaction are top priorities at Mon Health. The PASC will provide ease of access to patients, visitors, and providers.

When the PASC begins operation, it will impact services for the Imaging Department and Primary Care Offices at Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. It will not impact any inpatient admissions or how patients are admitted in the Emergency Department.
