Summer League Basketball gets season underway

TENNERTON – The 2022 Upshur County Summer Basketball League began their season on Monday with a trio of games and followed that up with two more on Tuesday at the Upshur County Recreational Complex.

On day one, On Point Athletics won a doubleheader, taking game one over CPImagery by a 59-49 score and taking game two over AMTC by an 80-55 score.

In game one, Ryan Hurst and Lamar Hurst led On Point Athletics with 15 points each while Tom Wood paced CPImagery with 19 points.

Josh Trent and Mitchell Price led On Point Athletics in game two with 13 points each while Keefe Kiser was the high-scorer for AMTC with 12 points.

In the final game on Monday, KBAM Builders outlasted Strategy IT by a 73-64 score.

Jaydn Stewart led KBAM Builders with 21 points while Cordell Nicola had a game-high 30 points for Strategy IT.

In Tuesday’s opener, TKS Contracting won by forfeit over Dairy King.

In the two games decided on the court, The Outpost downed Pre Played Media by a 64-50 score but Pre Played came back to defeat Sam’s Pizza by a 57-53 score.

The Outpost was led by Isaac Walker’s 18 points while Pre Played Media were led by Kaden Cutlip and Travis Anderson’s 12 points.

Rusty Harsh led Pre Played Media in their win with 18 points while Ian Strader paced Sam’s Pizza with a game-high 21 points.
