Minuzzi, Henricksen earn MEC men’s soccer honors

BRIDGEPORT – Wheeling Jesuit’s Martin Minuzzi is the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Urbana’s Jakob Henriksen is the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Minuzzi, a senior from Cardoba, Argentina, had six points in two matches last week. In a win over No. 13 Notre Dame, Minuzzi provided a goal and an assist to help lead the upset victory over the Falcons. He followed that up with a goal and assist against seventh-ranked Charleston.

Henriksen, a sophomore from Odense, Denmark, helped lead Urbana to a 2-0-0 week. He recorded three saves in a 1-0 win over West Liberty, and then was called on to make a career-high eight saves as the Blue Knights topped West Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1.

Other Top Performances
Offense: Maxime Ramioulle (CU) scored a goal in each game last week … Jake Wischmeier (UU) provided the game-winning goal against West Liberty and had an assist against West Virginia Wesleyan … Arthur Favero (NDC) had the game-winner in overtime against Shepherd.
Defense: Josh Zimmerman (WJU) posted seven saves in a win over Notre Dame … Daniele De Angelis (NDC) had 10 saves last week in two matches, including a shutout against Shepherd … Ching Lokus (CU) had 15 saves in two matches and recorded a shutout against West Liberty.
