The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Saturday that 126 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Mountain State.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reports as of 5 p.m. on July 25, 2020, there have been 256,780 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 5,821 total cases and 103 deaths,” according to a press release.
Doddridge County — the last in the state with no cases — reported its first confirmed case Saturday. COVID-19 cases have now been identified in all of West Virginia’s 55 counties.
New cases were reported Saturday in Berkeley, Boone, Brooke, Cabell, Calhoun, Doddridge, Fayette, Grant, Hampshire, Harrison, Jefferson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Marion, Marshall, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mineral, Mingo, Monongalia, Monroe, Ohio, Preston, Putnam, Raleigh, Roane, Taylor and Wood counties.
The state also hit a new high in active cases on Saturday. About 1,603 West Virginia cases remain active, according DHHR data. Of the cases that are no longer active, 4,115 people have recovered and 103 have died. The daily percent positive rate was 2.81%.
