Wheeling Post 1 claims state American Legion baseball title

Wheeling Post 1 captured the 2025 West Virginia American Legion baseball title with a 6-0 shutout over Beckley and will advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament in Maryland.

MORGANTOWN – Wheeling Post 1 won the 2025 West Virginia American Legion State Tournament on Monday after a 6-0 victory over the Beckley Bash Post 32 at Dale Miller Field in Morgantown.

Wheeling (31-7-1) went unscathed through the double-elimination tournament and will now advance to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament that starts on Aug. 6 in Ridge (Md.).

For Beckley, they lost their opener to Berkley Springs but won three games in the loser’s bracket to make the title game.

Beckley ended their year with a 21-15-1 record.
