BUCKHANNON – The Upshur County Development Authority is offering a free study space for Upshur County students and their caretakers on days when schools are closed. The Upshur Innovation Center located in Downtown Buckhannon is fully equipped with high-speed internet connectivity and opportunities for quiet study zones.
No power or no internet? The UCDA welcomes students to The IDEA to utilize their shared working space for free on days when Upshur County Schools are closed.
“We are here to help,” said Executive Director Robbie Skinner. “A big part of promoting economic development is supporting and investing in our youth and education system as a whole. The innovation center was built to be a community resource, and we philosophically believe that providing services to our students absolutely fits our mission and vision as an organization.”
The IDEA shared workspace can be found on the second floor of the Innovation Center at the corner of East Main and Spring Streets. The building is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
To enter the building, visitors are encouraged to use the main entrance doors immediately to the left of Boost Mobile on Main Street. Please check in with Assistant Director Brandon Tenney, or Executive Director Robbie Skinner when you arrive.
