Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to host Volunteer Luncheon April 24

Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary hosts its third annual Volunteer Luncheon on April 24 at Saint Paul’s West Hall, honoring community service and naming a Lewis County Volunteer of the Year amid National Volunteer Week.

The Theresa Snaith Hospital Auxiliary of Vandalia Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is hosting its third annual Volunteer Luncheon at noon, Thursday, April 24, at Saint Paul’s West Hall on East First Street. The event coincides with National Volunteer Week, April 20-26, a time to recognize and celebrate the impact of volunteers in communities. The theme for this year’s luncheon is “Volunteers Make Waves.”

New this year, the Auxiliary will be honoring a Lewis County Volunteer of the Year. To nominate a volunteer for this honor, contact Julia Spelsberg, Auxiliary President and Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, at 304-517-8612 or email Julia.Spelsberg@Vandaliahealth.org.

“Volunteers are truly the heart of Lewis County,” Spelsberg said. “From those who serve at Our Neighbor, the Lewis County Family Resource Network, and the Lewis County CEOS Clubs to those who give their time at the library—our volunteers are essential to the well-being of not only our patients at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital but our entire community. They are a vital force that enriches the quality of life for everyone who lives here.”

National Volunteer Week, established in 1974, is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle societal challenges, build stronger communities, and make a difference.
