Soccer Lady Bucs tumble to Lincoln at home, 1-0

TENNERTON –The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs were stymied offensively in their 1-0 setback to the Lincoln Cougars Tuesday in a Big 10 Conference battle on the turf at Freal “Red” Crites Memorial Stadium.

The Lady Bucs managed nine shots-on-goal but were never able to find the back of the net.

The lone goal of the game occurred in the first half when Lincoln’s Brooklyn Davisson scored an unassisted goal with a deflection on her shot from the top of the box.

“It was a well-played match by both teams,” remarked Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Bob Greenough. “Lincoln was able to get one on us early and did a good job keeping us off their keeper.”

Both teams owned nine shots-on-goal but Lincoln held a 6-3 lead in corner kicks.

Kyndal Davis made eight stops in net for the Lady Bucs while Delaney Haller made nine saves for Lincoln.

The loss dropped the Lady Bucs to 1-2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big 10 Conference.

They were slated to play Preston Thursday night.

They will be back in action Saturday in a non-conference contest at Martinsburg.

Kickoff is slated for noon.
