Sam’s Pizza takes over lead in men’s golf league standings

TENNERTON – Sam’s Pizza made the leap from third place into first place in Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League action this past Wednesday.

Sam’s Pizza took over the top spot with a 21 ½-18 ½ win over Lisa Cain Edward Jones as they now have 66 ½ points.

Hank Ellis Insurance moved up two spots from fourth to second after a 26 ½-13 ½ win over Highland Landscaping with 65 ½ points. Highland Landscaping dropped from second to fourth with the loss with 58 ½ points.

Feola’s Flowers, last week’s leader, fell all the way to third after a rough week, dropping a 24-12 decision to High Point Construction. Feola’s Flowers currently has 59 points.

In the other match of the week, Custom Cabinets downed First Community Bank by a 24 ½-15 ½ score.

Stephen Jeran of High Point Construction and Tim Critchfield of Sam’s Pizza tied for Low Actual honors while Critchfield and James Dean of Hank Ellis Insurance deadlocked for Low Net honors with 31s.
