Leadership Upshur meets with state leaders during session in Charleston

Leadership Upshur headed south for a session where state and business leaders discussed collaboration, gratitude, workforce development, leadership as service, personal branding and strategies to retain and empower young West Virginians for the state’s future.

The Leadership Upshur Class of 2025 headed to the State Capitol in Charleston for a session that featured state and business leaders who discussed collaboration, leadership and West Virginia’s future.

Speakers included:

  • Melanie Pagliaro, CCAWV director, on the power of collaboration and working together with peers.
  • Ashton Bias Harrell, Bar Admissions Administrator at the Supreme Court of Appeals, on the importance of gratitude in leadership and life.
  • Steve Roberts, director of the WV Chamber, on strengthening West Virginia’s workforce pipeline.
  • Jen Willits, executive director of Leadership West Virginia, on leadership as influence, lifting others up and serving.
  • Morgan Robinson, Focus Media Marketing, on personal branding and networking.
  • Secretary Kris Warner, on the bright future of Upshur County.
  • Treasurer Larry Pack, on keeping young adults in West Virginia and encouraging youth to see opportunity at home.

Leadership Upshur thanked the presenters and said the lessons will guide its efforts to grow, serve and invest in communities across Upshur County and beyond.
