GSU Department of Land Resources announces Fall 2025 internship seminar series

Glenville State University’s Department of Land Resources will host a Fall 2025 Internship Seminar Series Sept. 23–Oct. 14, with students giving five-minute presentations on internship experiences Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:15–1:00 PM in Waco Center.

The Department of Land Resources at Glenville State University is proud to announce the Fall 2025 Internship Seminar Series. As part of their internship course requirements, students from a variety of majors will present their internship experiences in short five-minute presentations. The series begins on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, and runs through Tuesday, October 14, 2025, with sessions held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15 to 1:00 PM in Waco Center Rooms 227–228.

The internship seminar series provides a unique opportunity for students to:

  • Share their professional experiences with faculty, staff, and peers.
  • Highlight the skills they developed and the projects they worked on with employers across forestry, land surveying, environmental science, wildlife management, and related fields.
  • Offer valuable insights for students preparing for internships next summer, including information about potential employers and the application process.

Students will present on a wide range of experiences, from working with the West Virginia Division of Forestry, Department of Agriculture, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Transportation, and State Parks to private sector opportunities with The Nature Conservancy, Landmark Forestry, Weyerhaeuser, Davey Resource Group, Civil & Environmental Consultants, Thrasher Engineering, Triad Engineering and others. The series will also feature presentations from students who participated in the NRMT 499 Field Exploration and Research in the Philippines, sharing their international academic and cultural experiences.

This Internship Seminar Series is supported by the EQT Foundation through a grant that promotes student engagement and retention in the Natural Resource Management Program.

The Department of Land Resources invites faculty, staff, students, and community members to attend and support these presentations.
