Upshur Parish House to host community resource fair and backpack distribution in August

BUCKHANNON — The Upshur County Parish House’s Annual Backpack Distribution event is fast approaching, bringing good news for Upshur County students. Any student in Upshur County can visit the Parish House to pick up a backpack filled with school supplies for the upcoming year.

According to a social media post by the Parish House, the backpack distribution will be held:

  • Wednesday, August 7: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. (Community Resource Fair)
  • Thursday, August 8: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 8: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. (Rock Cave UMC Only)
  • Friday, August 9: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Monday, August 12: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 13: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The event will feature a free Community Resource Fair on Wednesday, August 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can explore resources from Aetna, The Health Plan, Unicare and other organizations.

The distribution and fair will be held at the Upshur Parish House, located at 68 College Avenue in Buckhannon.
