Opening Ceremonies and the Lighting of the Festival Flame

The West Virginia Strawberry Festival is set to light up Buckhannon with the time-honored Opening Ceremonies and Lighting of the Festival Flame. Board Members of the festival, along with esteemed community members, local officials, and festival royalty, will come together to celebrate the much-awaited ‘official’ kick-off to the area’s favorite event.

As per tradition, the opening ceremony marks the beginning of a week-long celebration of everything strawberry-related, complete with live entertainment, parades,  and of course, delicious strawberry-themed treats. The Festival Flame is a symbol of the spirit and passion that drives the festival and its dedicated organizers.
