City of Buckhannon’s ‘aggressive street paving’ schedule to kick off Friday

Buckhannon City Council approved an accelerated paving plan; contractors will mill South Florida on Aug. 15 then West Lincoln, and pave several streets next week, with closures and no parking while work occurs.

Update: Crews arrived early to begin this work, starting the milling process Thursday.

The Buckhannon City Council recently approved an aggressive street paving schedule, and the outside contractors notified the city of their intent to begin quickly.  Here are their plans:

Milling on South Florida Street between Main Street and Central Avenue will take place on Friday morning, August 15.

Milling on West Lincoln Street between Route 20 and Henry Street will take place after South Florida Street is completed.

During milling, these streets will be closed to traffic, and there will be no street parking.

Paving will take place on South Florida Street, West Lincoln, Ohio Street, North Florida Street and Gate Street next week.

There will be no street parking or traffic on these streets while they are being paved.

All is subject to the weather, and the city will do its best to post the times of the actual streets being worked on.
