CAC Gallery hosts Equilibrium Disorder solo exhibition by Crystal Ann Brown

The CAC Gallery is hosting Equilibrium Disorder, a solo exhibition by Crystal Ann Brown exploring the invisible labor of caregiving through sculpture, drawing, and painting, on view through August 30 with related events open to the public.

The CAC Gallery is pleased to announce Equilibrium Disorder, a solo exhibition by Crystal Ann Brown. The exhibition will run until August 30. The gallery will host an artist reception on Friday, August 8, from 5 to 7 pm with an artist talk at 5:30 pm.

Equilibrium Disorder is an ongoing body of work investigating the labor of caregiving and domestic labor. Through sculpture, drawing, and painting, this immersive exhibition highlights the invisible labor of carework. Equilibrium Disorder asks the viewer to consider how you care for yourself, your family, and your community.

Brown is an interdisciplinary artist currently working in Buckhannon, West Virginia. She earned her MFA in sculpture and expanded practice from Ohio University School of Art. Her work acknowledges the underappreciated aspects of mothering and everyday life through the use of textiles, sculpture, time-based media, social practice and drawing. Crystal is also the founder and director of The Howns Den: A Nomadic + Domestic Exhibition Space, a domestic gallery that introduces new ways of viewing contemporary.

The CAC Gallery is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 – 8 pm or by appointment. The CAC Gallery is located at 48 East Main Street in downtown Buckhannon, WV.

All gallery events are free and open to the public.
