Nolte runs third for B-U at Stonewall Invitational; team finishes fourth

WESTON – Joey Nolte finished third for the Buckhannon-Upshur cross-country Buccaneers in the five-team, 43-performer Stonewall Invitational Wednesday evening.

Nolte posted a time of 19:40.0.

Carter Sias of Doddridge County won the event with a time of 18:24.4 while Nathaniel Stuck of East Fairmont was second with a time of 18:38.4.

The Bucs finished fourth as a team with 82 points.

Doddridge County won the team title with 45 points while East Fairmont was runner-up with 55 points and Lewis County was third with 58.

Scoring for the Bucs were Alex Sappey in 15th (21:03.3), Isaac Snodgrass in 20th (21:19.4), Jack Waggy in 21st (21:19.6) and Jeremy Allman in 31st (23:20.2). Also competing for B-U was Bryce Mullens in 32nd (23:26.8).

The event was the final regular season race for the Bucs as they now prepare for the Big 10 Conference Championships Thursday at Robert C. Byrd.
